BIG ON PLUSH. SMALLER ON SPACE.
Compression Packing for Stuffed Products
Reduce packed volume by up to 50% with compression packing for suitable soft toys, plush products, and other polyester fibre-filled items.
Our specialist compression systems help businesses make better use of vehicle, container, and storage space. This can lower transport and storage costs while reducing the carbon impact of moving the same quantity of products.
We carry out all compression packing at our 70,000 sq ft production facility in Blackpool, supporting customers and distribution requirements across the UK and Europe.

THE CHALLENGE
When Finished Products Take Up Too Much Space
Soft toys and other polyester fibre-filled products can be surprisingly demanding to store and transport. Their shape and volume mean that bags, vehicles, and containers can reach capacity long before their available weight allowance is used.
This can leave businesses paying to transport or store fresh air alongside their finished products.
Compression packing temporarily reduces the space taken up by suitable products, allowing more units to fit within the same storage or transport footprint. For larger production runs or regular distribution schedules, this can make a meaningful difference to logistics, handling and overall efficiency.
Because every product responds differently, we assess its size, construction, fibre content and ability to recover after unpacking before recommending the most appropriate approach.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
A Smarter Final Stage for Your Production Run
Stuff It Limited can incorporate compression packing into its wider stuffing and finishing service.
Once production is complete, customers can choose between standard packing or compression packing for suitable products. Compression packing temporarily reduces the volume of the finished product, allowing significantly more products to fit within the same storage, vehicle or container space.
Our production testing has shown that suitable products begin recovering almost immediately after unpacking, returning to their original shape, volume and appearance.
Depending on your product and requirements, our service can include:
PRODUCTION RESULTS, NOT JUST THEORY
The Evidence Behind the 50% Figure
Our compression figures come from real production trials and operational results.
During testing, we measured finished stuffed products before and after compression to determine the reduction in individual bag volume. We also monitored the products after unpacking to assess how effectively they recovered. We also tested recovery after extended compression, assessing products after unpacking to ensure they returned to their original shape, volume, and appearance.
These trials recorded examples where bag volume was reduced by approximately 50%. Before-and-after photographs taken in the same storage area also showed that compressed products allowed nearly twice as many bags to fit within the same footprint.
Results will naturally vary according to the size, shape, construction, and filling of each product. For this reason, “up to 50%” should be understood as a measured result achieved with suitable products, not a guaranteed reduction for every item.

THE BENEFITS
Pack More Into Every Journey
Reducing packed volume can improve efficiency throughout storage and distribution. The exact benefits will depend on the product, order size, and transport arrangements, but compression packing may help you achieve:

Reduced Storage Requirements
Accommodate more products within the same warehouse or storage footprint.

Increased Vehicle Capacity
Transport more suitable products in the same vehicle space.

Better Container Efficiency
Use available container capacity more effectively by fitting more suitable finished products into the same space.

Lower Transport Costs
More efficient loads may reduce the number of vehicles, containers, or collections required.

HOW IT WORKS
From Finished Product to
Compressed Package
Our process is designed to establish whether compression is suitable before it becomes part of a larger production run.
We begin by discussing the product, expected quantity, packing format, storage requirements and intended method of transportation.
Photographs and specifications help at this stage, especially if the product is new or unusual.
Where appropriate, we assess a sample and carry out a compression trial. We measure the product before and after compression and monitor its recovery after unpacking.
This gives us practical evidence of how the product responds before we process larger quantities.
We fill customer-supplied, pre-sewn products with polyester fibre and seal them securely.
We check products
throughout production for weight, shape, consistency, seams, fitted components,
and overall appearance.
Once production and quality checks are complete, we pack products according to the agreed requirements.
Customers can choose standard packing or, for suitable products, compression packing to reduce the finished order volume.

Which Products May Be Suitable For Compression Packing?
Our core expertise is in soft toys and plush products, from smaller designs to oversized items. Compression may also be suitable for other polyester fibre-filled products, including:
Not every product will respond to compression in the same way. Its construction, fitted components, shape and required presentation can all affect suitability.
Products with unusual shapes, delicate components or new designs can be assessed individually. A sample assessment or production trial allows us to test the process without assuming that one approach will work for every product.
Priced Around Your Product and Requirements
The cost of compression packing depends on the product, quantity, packing format, and the wider services required.
Your quotation will be based on the product’s dimensions and construction, fibre-filling requirements, number of units and required bag or box quantities. We will also consider whether a sample assessment or production trial is needed, together with any wrapping, packing, storage, together with any wrapping, packing, storage or preparation requirements.
Once we understand the product and how it needs to move through production, we can provide a quotation based on the actual work involved.
Frequently Asked Compression Packing Questions

More Efficient Packing, More Responsible Distribution
Compression packing forms part of our wider approach to improving production and distribution efficiency.
By reducing the packed volume of suitable products, businesses can use vehicles, containers, and storage space more effectively. Transporting more products within each load can also reduce the number of journeys required and lower the associated carbon impact.
We specialise exclusively in polyester fibre filling, including recycled polyester fibre for customers looking for a more responsible material option.
